Facebook May Be A Key to Combatting Government Corruption

After my wife and I enjoyed The Social Network (movie about Facebook) over the weekend, I came up with an idea. We are all seriously worried about various and sundry things going on in our country.  But whether we are Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Independents, or otherwise, almost all Americans can agree that we support the rights we were all granted in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights!  So, I believe there is a way to reach the masses we need on Facebook….

I have created a Facebook group called “I Support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.”  That is all the group stands for – nothing else to muddy the water for folks.

Here’s a link to the page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/home.php?sk=group_193128914045255&ap=1

I am asking you and everyone I know to send this to all of your friends and relatives, and ask them to send it to all of their friends and relatives, and so on.  We need at least one million people to join this group.  We must send a message to our government that our rights must always be protected.  There are some real problems in this regard with all politicians, judges, and government muckety-mucks, so we need a loud voice to get their attention.  One million+ people on Facebook will send a message…and it costs a lot less than one million people going to DC for a march.

If you want to add your Facebook friends to the group, you can.  Once you have joined, “I Support the Constitution” will show up as a Group just below “Friends” in the left-hand column of your Facebook Profile page.  Click on it, and then in the right column, click on “Add Friends to Group.”  Then you just enter your friends’ names.  I was able to get a list of all of my friends by clicking on Friends and getting the full list, then copying them and pasting them onto a Word page.  I printed it out, and entered them.  Because they are your friends, the names show up after a few keystrokes.

If you or your friends don’t want email, click on Account > Account Settings > Notifications > Groups > Change email settings.  Make sure it is set so you don’t receive emails about the group.  If you or anyone doesn’t want to be a friend of the group, just click on “Leave Group.”

This is a REALLY IMPORTANT thing that we are trying to do.  We need to reach over one million people.

Please go to www.Facebook.com right now.  Go to the page for “I Support the Constitution and Bill of Rights” — http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/home.php?sk=group_193128914045255&ap=1

Then follow the directiions above.

If you aren’t a Facebook member, register; it’s free.  You don’t have to enter any information about yourself if you don’t want to.

Please also copy and paste this article or a link to it in an email, and send it to everyone in your email address book.

We also need to obtain signatures on petitions.  Here is our Citizen Pledge Form pdf file.
