After presiding over a hearing early this year, a judge has found the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission proved seven of eight counts of misconduct it alleges of suspended Jackson County District Judge James Justin.

Justin inappropriately disposed of cases, including his own parking tickets; had “ex-parte” communications with defendants resulting in case dismissals; and interfered with another judge, former Ingham County District Judge Pamela McCabe wrote in a report signed Thursday.

He also failed to follow prosecutors’ plea agreements; altered, deleted or stopped information from going to the Secretary of State; made misrepresentations to the tenure commission; and long delayed cases, she decided.

The decision was announced March 25, 2011.
