A southern Illinois judge has refused to lower the $500,000 bond of Todd Fort, a former Saline County chief sheriff’s deputy, accused of sexual misconduct with a Harrisburg teenager.

Todd Fort’s request for the bond reduction was denied on April 20, 2011.

Fort is to stand trial May 4, 2011 on charges largely accusing him of sexual assault and criminal misconduct with the teenage girl, now 18, last year.

Fort, 44, has pleaded not guilty and remains jailed.

He resigned from the sheriff’s department last August and later quit as board president of Harrisburg schools.
