Our sweet friend, Kristi, passed away tonight.
She was Bill Windsor’s angel…
When Bill Windsor found himself in the Ellis County Texas Jail without a way to reach anyone who cared enough to answer the phone, an angel appeared. Kristi. She came from nowhere — hadn’t seen her in 40 or 50 years. She came to provide whatever help he needed. That’s an angel, for sure! She ran errands, found his “stolen” vehicle, made photocopies of court filings, paid the rent, you-name-it, she did it.
When Bill Windsor was released from the Texas jail in late December, Kristi and Bill met at a Mexican restaurant near her home. She looked great. This photo was taken at Thanksgiving. It was a special time.
Bill was notified just a few days ago that Kristi is being taken to a hospice and had only a few days to live. She didn’t know she had cancer until she got shingles. Shingles often develop in people whose immune systems are compromised, such as those who have cancer. She had shingles, lesions on her head, and cancer in her head, lungs, spine, lymph nodes….
She was diagnosed with cancer, and now less than a month later, she has gone to Heaven.
Kristi has been through so much in her life. Both of her parents died of cancer. Her only son died tragically. Her sister, Sharon, died of a heart attack while having a routine biopsy. Her husband died tragically. Now this. Definitely makes you count your blessings.

It takes a special person to endure what Kristi has endured in her life. And to drop just about everything to come from out of nowhere to help a childhood friend! Surely there is a very special place for Angel Kristi in Heaven.
She was scared of the Joeys, but she helped anyway!
