Candidate for Congress introduces state legislation designed to reform the legal and judicial process -- Changes desperately needed -- Part 7 - Perjury

William M. Windsor, candidate for U.S. Congress, has introduced state legislation designed to reform the legal and judicial process.  These are changes that Windsor says are desperately needed.

The legal systems and judicial systems in Georgia and every state in America must be reformed.  Dishonesty and corruption have stolen the rights of every American.

This is Part 7 of a series of articles that will address the proposed legislation for Georgia.  This proposed legislation adds a statute making perjury a civil cause of action.

These changes are an addition to Georgia Code Title 51, Chapter 7, Article 6:

TITLE 51. TORTS

CHAPTER 7 - FALSE ARREST, FALSE IMPRISONMENT, MALICIOUS PROSECUTION, AND ABUSIVE LITIGATION

ARTICLE 6 Perjury

§ 51-7-86.  Perjury

(a) A person to whom a lawful oath or affirmation has been administered commits the civil offense of perjury when, in a judicial proceeding, he knowingly and willfully makes a false statement material to the issue or point in question.

(b)  A party to a judicial proceeding who is a victim of perjury may file a civil action seeking damages.

Notes:  Currently, people can lie repeatedly in court, and those damaged by the perjury have no recourse, and judges do nothing.  Citizens need the ability to seek damages against witnesses in court who commit perjury.  Perjury is an epidemic in our courts.  Some reports are that as much as 60% of what is said in a courtroom may be false.  Law enforcement will rarely take action against someone for the criminal act of perjury.  This new statute will ensure that victims have a means of redress.
